In the last 24 hours two groups have emerged to protest against the decision as well as declare support for the reshuffle which saw Minority Leader and MP for Tamale South losing his position to the Ranking Member on Finance Committee, Dr. Ato Forson.
On Wednesday, January 26, 2023 a coalition of youth groups, organised a News Conference to oppose the decision by the National Executives of the party. This followed an earlier threat by another group led by the Tamale South Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Rauf Sumani who gave a twenty-four-hour ultimatum to the National Executives to rescind the decision.
On Thursday, January 26, 2023 a new group emerged, to declare support for the reshuffle.
Known as the NDC Loyal Members, the group encouraged the National Executives of the party to go ahead with the reshuffle.
The group described the reshuffle as “timely”, adding that, “we have enough time to build consensus for victory 2024.”
The group urged the National Executives and the new leadership in Parliament to be firm and impartial in all internal party activities.
The Spokesperson for the group, Muhammed Murtala also assured all party Executives to feel free and visit the region without any fear.
