The latest poll by Global Info Analytics shows Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu leading the race to become the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with 30% support. He is followed by the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who polled 24%.

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson came third with 18%, while Chief of Staff Julius Debrah secured 10%. Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa polled 8%, Agric Minister Eric Opoku 2%, and Joshua Alabi, Armah Kofi-Buah, and Kwame Awuah-Darko each recorded 2%. Spio Garbrah had 1%, while Okoe Vanderpuije registered 0%.

In a simulated three-horse race excluding Ato Forson, Haruna Iddrisu’s support rose to 45%, with Asiedu Nketia following with 37% and Julius Debrah garnering 18%. Among NDC voters, Haruna maintained 47%, Asiedu Nketia had 39%, and Julius 14%. In the swing regions, Haruna polled 48%, compared to Asiedu Nketia’s 37% and Julius Debrah’s 15%.

The poll also tested scenarios without Haruna Iddrisu. In that case, Asiedu Nketia led narrowly with 40%, followed by Ato Forson with 38% and Julius Debrah with 22%. Among NDC voters, the race tightened further, with Asiedu Nketia at 42%, Ato Forson at 41%, and Julius Debrah at 17%. In swing regions, Ato Forson topped with 47%, compared to Asiedu Nketia’s 38% and Julius Debrah’s 15%.

For the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Global Info Analytics revealed that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has taken a commanding lead in the presidential primaries with 47% delegate support. Businessman and former legislator Kennedy Agyapong remains his closest challenger but has struggled to convert undecided delegates.

Although Dr. Bawumia currently dominates, a significant share of delegates remain undecided, leaving room for shifts as campaigns intensify. Both the NDC and NPP primaries will be critical in shaping Ghana’s political landscape ahead of the 2028 general elections.
