NDC Primaries: Murtala wins Tamale Central

A former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, in the John Mahama led government, Murtala Mohammed, has won in the Tamale Central Parliament primaries of the NDC.

He polled 737 votes to defeat Rahaman Gundadow , former MCE of Tamale who garnered 319 votes and Alhassan Adam who secured 181 votes.

Murtala who won the seat in 2012, lost the seat to New Patriotic Party (NPP), Parliamentary candidate for the area Mohammed Hardi Tuferu.

Mr. Mohammed thanked the Tamale Central delegates for believing in him and assured them that he would do everything possible to retain the seat for the NDC.
