Parliament to resume sitting on Tuesday, February 3

Ghana’s Parliament will officially resume sitting for its Second Session of the 9th Parliament at noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

The announcement was contained in the release of a constitutional instrument dated January 20, 2026, by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin in Accra.

The commencement Instrument, which was issued in accordance with Article 112(1) of the 1992 Constitution, empowers the Speaker to appoint the time and place for sittings of Parliament.

It formally brings to an end the recess following the First Session and clears the way for the resumption of legislative business, including the consideration of government bills, committee work, and matters of national importance.
