Ghanaians are still unable to use the new voter ID card used in the general election five months after the election.

This is because the Electoral Commission and the National Identification Authority, NIA are yet to harmonize their systems to make this possible.

This has led to some political parties raising concerns on the issue.

Deputy General Secretary of the NDC Peter Boamah Otokunor said the situation creates inconvenience for individuals transacting business using mobile money.

Deputy General Secretary of the NPP Nana Obiri Boahen bemoaned the situation but was quick to add that political parties do not exercise any control over the EC and the NIA.

Mr.Obiri Boahen waded into the hashtag, fix the country social media campaign that led to an online demonstration.

He said such conversations should be done without insults.
