Testing for coronavirus resumes in Parliament

Testing for COVID-19 has resumed in parliament following a directive from the Speaker.

Early this week, there were reports that some two MP’s and 13 staff of the parliamentary service have tested positive for the virus. This was after an initial testing which was done last week.

On Tuesday, the Speaker of Parliament, Prof Mike Oquaye gave another directive for Members of Parliament (MPs) and staff as well as members of the parliamentary press corps to undergo mandatory testing today (May 28) and tomorrow (May 29, 2020).

It is believed that this second round of testing is an exercise to test those who might have come into contact with those who tested positive.
