Lawyer and Entrepreneur, Victoria Bright has stated that Ghana faces more pressing issues that require attention and resolution than tackling the regulation of prophecies.

“I agree that there are a lot of quack and genuine prophets who get into the minds of vulnerable people so I do agree that there needs to be some kind of sanction but regulating it from the Presidency? The Presidency has things that are more pressing to deal with now. I don’t even know of any country where prophesies are being regulated’’, she said.

In an interview with a private radio station, on August 11, 2025, she emphasized the need to prioritize critical problems affecting the nation first.

This comes after Ghana’s Presidency directed religious leaders to submit ‘‘prophecies of national significance’’ for official review.

The move aims to assess and potentially act on spiritual warnings related to high profile leaders, governance, national security, and public stability, the Presidency’s Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations Office said in a statement on Sunday.

The order comes after videos circulated on social media featuring Christian clerics claiming to have foreseen a disaster just before the recent military helicopter crash that killed eight people, including two ministers.
