The voter registration exercise has begun in earnest across more than two hundred centres in the Northern Region.
In the Tamale metropolis and the Sagnerigu Municipality, the exercise has been very smooth on the opening day; however, the protocols for covid-19 including observing social distancing and wearing face masks have been thrown to the winds.
At three separate registration centers at Gumbihini, officials struggled to maintain social distance.
Some residents have also complained that, they do not know when the registration exercise will reach their areas and appealed to the EC to intensify publicity.
The northern regional director of the EC, Lucas Yiryel, assured residents that, no one will be left out.
He also appealed to residents to comport themselves and adhere to the covid-19 protocols.
