Leading Member of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has stated that it has been long
overdue that the Electoral Commission, EC Chair, Jean Mensa and her team have been in office.
“These are not worthy clients of our electoral commission”, he added.
During a panel discussion on GBC’s Focus on Wednesday, November, 26, 2025, Mr. Mornah revealed that he supports the petition against them by a staff of the electoral commission to have them removed from office.
According to him, they are incapable of playing the impartial and neutral role as commissioners should. He stated that they should not under any circumstances continue to occupy that high office because they lack the integrity and communication capacity to occupy the office.
Mr. Mornah recommended that they should have left office on their own and not waited to be petitioned to leave.
“The fact that the staff member of the Electoral Commission even petitioned for their removal makes the situation even more dire”, he said.
This falls on the back of a petition filed by a staff member of Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC), Joseph Blankson Adumadzie seeking the removal of EC Chairperson Jean Mensa and her two deputies, Dr. Bossman Eric Asare and Samuel Tettey. The petition, submitted to President John Dramani Mahama under Article 146 of the Constitution, alleges 12 counts of misconduct, including cronyism, abuse of office, and gross incompetence.
