Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from outside the Upper East Region have begun arriving in Bolgatanga ahead of the party’s flagbearer election scheduled for Saturday.
Some of the delegates were sighted at the NPP regional office in Bolgatanga with their luggage, awaiting transportation to their respective host communities. The early arrival forms part of logistical arrangements to ensure delegates are settled well in advance of the crucial internal exercise.

Speaking to GBCNews’ Peter Agengre, the Nasara Coordinator for the region, Alhaji Salley Delwinde, confirmed that a significant number of the arriving delegates are from the Kusaug area. He noted that the party has made adequate arrangements to receive them and ensure their comfort throughout their stay.
“Some of them are going to Zebilla, some of them to Bawku Central, some of them Garu, some of Tempane. They just arrived now and they are going to their various homes to vote on Saturday. So I can confirm to you that everything is set for the polls.” Alhaji Salley explained.

Regional party executives have also assured delegates and the general public that all preparations for the election have been completed. According to them, measures have been put in place to guarantee the safety of delegates, party officials, and electoral materials before, during, and after the voting process.

They emphasized that the party is committed to a peaceful, transparent, and credible election that reflects the democratic values of the NPP. Security agencies are expected to work closely with party officials to maintain law and order.
Saturday’s flagbearer election is seen as a key milestone as the NPP positions itself for the next general elections, with heightened interest from party supporters across the country.
