The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has announced that a new media partner for the Ghana Premier League will be revealed shortly. This development comes as part of the GFA’s efforts to secure fresh broadcasting arrangements to boost the visibility and reach of Ghana’s top-tier football.

The move follows the expiration of the GFA’s previous agreement with Chinese broadcaster StarTimes. The partnership was officially terminated due to an outstanding debt of $842,173.36, which the GFA cited as the primary reason for ending the contract at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season. Despite the break, the league continues to operate without an official broadcast partner.

Currently, the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup lack an official broadcaster, leaving fans to follow matches through alternative channels. Kurt Okraku expressed optimism about the league’s marketability, emphasizing that Ghana’s football product remains highly attractive to media companies looking for new partnership opportunities

“Our Premier League is interesting enough to attract TV partners, and we will announce a new partner soon,” Okraku stated confidently. He also clarified that the decision to terminate the StarTimes deal was driven by financial disagreements, and the GFA is now focused on securing a more sustainable broadcasting arrangement.
