The West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B) has officially announced new dates for the highly anticipated 2025 U20 Boys Cup. The tournament will now take place in Ghana from July 10 to 23, 2025. This decision comes after the initial schedule, which was supposed to take place from June 15-30, 2025, was postponed, though details of the original dates were not publicly disclosed.
In a recent media statement, WAFU B urged all seven member nations to prepare adequately to ensure their full participation in the rescheduled event. The tournament is recognized as a crucial platform for developing young football talent across West Africa and often serves as a qualifier for the prestigious U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The competition has historically showcased rising stars who later go on to represent their senior national teams, making it a significant stepping stone for young athletes. Past editions have featured players who have achieved great success at the highest levels of African and international football.
Ghana last hosted the tournament in 2020 and is expected to deliver a competitive and well-organized event this time around. The country’s experience and strong football infrastructure are seen as vital in providing a memorable experience for participating teams and fans.
