Harry Kane has won the first major trophy of his career after helping Bayern Munich secure their 33rd Bundesliga title.
The victory ends a long wait for silverware for the England captain, who had previously endured multiple final defeats with both club and country.
Kane’s career has been marked by consistency and goal-scoring prowess, but until now, major honours had remained elusive. The 30-year-old had lost six finals—including two European and three domestic cup finals—with Tottenham Hotspur, despite being one of the most prolific forwards of his generation.
After joining Bayern last season, Kane again went without a trophy as the club missed out in the Champions League, DFB Cup, and Supercup. However, in his second season, he has played a key role in Bayern’s title success.
Kane is currently the Bundesliga’s top scorer with 24 goals, underlining his importance to the team and his ability to deliver in crucial moments. He is also in contention to win the Bundesliga Golden Boot for a second consecutive season.
The win makes Kane only the fifth English player to win the Bundesliga title, following Kevin Keegan, Owen Hargreaves, Omar Richards, and Eric Dier.
Kane is expected to lead Bayern’s squad at the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in the United States this June, where the German side will aim to add another title to their season. He is also targeting individual honours and further domestic and international success with the club.
