The Hawks of Togo egressed the 2022 Total Energies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after amassing a 1 and conceding 9 goals.
Coach Kai Tomety and her side are one of the 4 debutants who fought through 5 matches in 2 round of qualifiers to book one of the 11 ticket for the tournament.
Fortunately for the Hawks, they were handed a walk over Sao Tome and Principe in the first round before winning 4-2 against Gabon.
The Hawks were housed in Group B alongside Tunisia, Zambia and Cameroon.
But for Togo all other teams in Group B qualified to the next round.
The Hawks best performance was a 1-1 draw against WAFCON giant Cameroon. The West African side lost 4-1 to Tunisia and Togo.
The unlucky Togo side only had a point after 3 matches which was not enough to keep them in the competition anymore.
The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is live on GTV Sports.
