The Black Stars are set to name their squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers this week, with coach Otto Addo leading preparations for crucial matches next month. Ghana will face intense fixtures in Matchdays 7 and 8, beginning with a trip to Chad’s Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on September 4, followed by a home game against Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8.

After a difficult 2024, the senior national team bounced back strongly in early 2025, registering consecutive wins over Chad and Madagascar. The Black Stars thrashed Chad 5-0 and followed that with a commanding 3-0 victory against Madagascar, giving fans renewed hope as the qualifying campaign resumes.

Otto Addo has been actively scouting talent across Europe and working alongside assistant coaches John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda, who have been keeping tabs on local players. Their combined efforts are expected to culminate in the announcement of a robust squad designed to maintain Ghana’s top position in Group I and build on the current momentum.

Currently leading Group I after six matches, the Black Stars are eyeing their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup. The team’s recent form and strategic player selections will be critical in securing qualification and continuing Ghana’s proud football legacy.
