Ghana Women’s Premier League champions Police Ladies have learned their opponents for the 2025 WAFU B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers following the draw held on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

The Ghanaian side, coached by Yusif Basigi, were placed in Group B alongside Nigerian league champions Bayelsa Queens FC, Togolese club Association Sportive de La Kozah and Benin’s Sam Nelly.

This marks the first appearance by Police Ladies in the regional competition after their maiden victory in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League last season.

The WAFU B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers are set to start on August 23, 2025, in Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire.

The tournament is a crucial part of the CAF Women’s Champions League qualification process, bringing together top clubs from West Africa’s WAFU B zone to compete for a spot in the continental competition.

For Police Ladies, this is an opportunity to showcase their talents on a bigger stage and measure themselves against some of the best teams from neighboring countries.

Under the leadership of experienced coach Yusif Basigi, Police Ladies will aim to navigate the group stage successfully. Bayelsa Queens FC from Nigeria will present a tough challenge as the Nigerian champions, known for their competitive style.

Meanwhile, Association Sportive de La Kozah from Togo and Sam Nelly of Benin add variety to the group, promising an exciting and competitive set of matches for the Ghanaian champions.

The draw and upcoming qualifiers reflect growing momentum and investment in women’s football across the region. For Police Ladies, this debut is a milestone that emphasises the club’s rise and the increasing stature of Ghanaian women’s football.
