Employees of the Ghana Grid Company, GRIDCO, have suspended the sit-down strike they embarked upon last Wednesday to demand payment of debts owed the Company by the Electricity Company of Ghana and other State institutions.

A statement released Monday, December 16 said the suspension follows a Joint Standing Committee Meeting of the Management and Staff Associations of the Company at which the decision was taken.

The statement, jointly signed by the Chairman of GRIDCO’s Senior Staff Association, Chairman of the Divisional Union and Director Human Resource and Services, said Management is committed to regular engagements with the staff Associations and stakeholders with the view to resolve all outstanding issues.

The statement, however, assured the public and its cherished customers that it is committed to delivering on its mandate of transmitting reliable and uninterrupted power.
