The Manya Krobo Traditional Council in the Eastern Region has threatened to hand over people who attack the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), workers in their line of duty to law enforcement agencies.
The Traditional Council is, therefore, urging the youth of the area to desist from attacking officials of the electricity distribution company.
The Council’s warning comes after some officials from ECG were nearly attacked by some inhabitants at Kpongunor in their attempt to restore power and fix transformers which had been tempered in Kpongunor and Nuaso New Town.
The tempering of transformers, according to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Traditional Council, Nene Asada Ahor, has left both towns in total darkness since Wednesday, July 20.
Nene Ahor, in an interview, warned that any person or group of people who attacks staff of ECG will be handed over to law enforcement agencies for the law to deal with that person.
