The National Association of Institutional Suppliers (NAIS) has announced plans to picket at the Ministry of Education on June 11, 2026, over the government’s failure to settle outstanding payments owed to its members under the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) programme.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, and signed by its President, Emmanuel Ayivor, and Assistant Secretary, Ruth Kodua, the association explained that the protest had become necessary due to the prolonged delay in the payment of approximately GH¢50 million owed to suppliers of uniforms, house dresses and school cloths to public senior high schools.

According to the statement, members of NAIS have not received payment for supplies delivered since 2023, despite several engagements and appeals to the relevant authorities.

The association said the non-payment has caused significant financial hardship for suppliers and is threatening their ability to continue providing essential services to schools.

“The picketing aims not only to draw the government’s attention to our plight but also to urge the immediate release of funds owed to NAIS members,” the statement said.

The group noted further that it expects the demonstration to highlight the urgency of the issue and prompt swift action from the government to settle the outstanding debts.

They also appealed to the media to cover the planned protest to help amplify their concerns and draw the attention of key stakeholders to the matter.
