UCC appoints Prof. Denis Aheto as Vice-Chancellor

The Governing Council of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has appointed a new Vice-Chancellor following a special meeting held on May 15, 2026.

In a notice issued the same day, the university confirmed that Professor Denis Worlanyo Aheto has been appointed Vice-Chancellor, effective August 1, 2026.

Professor Aheto is currently serving as Acting Vice-Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor of the university.

The notice, signed by the Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, said the announcement was intended to inform the university community and the public.

Professor Aheto is expected to assume office officially in August.
