Labour Unions in Nigeria begin nationwide strike to protest rising cost of living

Nigeria’s main labour are set to start a nationwide strike today after talks with government over raising the minimum wage broke down.
General Secretary of the Nigerian Labour Congress Peter Ozo-Eson said the government had promised to review the minimum wage in the face of the rising cost of living.
The NLC had called for the minimum wage to be tripled to 164 Naira a month.
