Coalition of Concerned Teachers declares strike

The Coalition of Concerned Teachers ,CCT Ghana has declared an indefinite strike effective today, over what it describes as failure by government to pay their salary arrears and the imposition of a life insurance policy on its members.
The Coalition stated that salary arrears of more than 30 thousand members from 2013 to 2016 are yet to be paid.
Also government has been deducting ten cedis from the salaries of members for a life insurance payment contrary to its promise to bear such insurance expenses.
Members of the Coalition made this clear at a news conference in Accra saying they will lay down their tools and not budge until all their concerns are addressed appropriately.
