Help Age Ghana is calling on the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare to submit the Bill on the aged to Parliament to be passed into law.
Executive Director of Help Age Ghana, Ebenezer Adjetey-Sorsey said the Bill is not being treated with the seriousness it deserves.
He deplored the situation where politicians continue to capture issues of the aged in their Manifestos as if older persons do not know their rights.
Mr. Adjetey-Sorsey who spoke to GBC’s George Ankrah said ten years is enough for the Bill to have been sent to Parliament.
He said aging is not just about money for comfort. The more pressing issue about the aged is that they must be respected and taken care of.
