Honduras probes fishing disaster after 27 die

Honduran authorities say they are investigating the cause of an accident in which at least 27 people died after their fishing boat sank off the Caribbean coast.

The incident occured in the remote Mosquitia coastal region after heading out to sea when a seasonal ban on lobster fishing was lifted.

Families have began the grim task of identifying the bodies They were brought by boat to a sandbar off the coast where the bodies were being collected.

The Directorate of Forensic Medicine says a team of nine experts have been sent to the area to help recover and identify the victims.
